Styles for Short Hair - Summer 2009 Tips

With the increase of celebrities and stars opting for short hair this year, it has had many women looking at their long flowing locks in the mirror and wondering if it is time to chop off the long hair and try a new shorter style. If this is you and you are not yet sure of the kind of looks that you can achieve with short hair or even if it will suit you, you will be pleased to know that there are many styles that can be made from short hair and also many face shapes that they will suit.

Kate Winslet had the right idea at the Oscars this year. She has longer length hair naturally but the hairstyle that she adorned while accepting her award was an imitation bob, wavy and curled under making her long hair appear to be much shorter. This is a great look to recreate if you want to be the centre of attention at a party or event and are not quite sure if the chop is really for just yet.

There are plenty of styles that will achieve this shorter look without having to lop off any of the natural long locks but generally shorter hair will be much easier to maintain and you can do just as many things with short hair as you can with long hair.

Look at stars such as Victoria Beckham as one prime example, she has short hair and has recently made the change from graduated bob to pixie cut but has never gone out looking as though she has the same style and the same is achievable for you if you are planning to go short.
